Hi guys,
can I upgrade my HP NOTEBOOK 15-r217tx - Network Card
Integrated 10/100 BASE-T Ethernet LAN?

This laptop speed is only at 100mbps at max and I want to upgrade atleast 500mbps.

Is it possible?

Thanks in advance, guys :)

you can upgrade your wifi card though.

You can also try using a usb to ethernet adapter for faster speeds.

LAN, no way to change since it is integrated with the motherboard. If you need faster Wifi, just get an external WIFI adapter. At least you can sell it later, or reuse it on another laptop.

i dont know about usb versions. it will probably work provided that your router supports wireless AC and is close enough

if your laptop doesnt have a whitelist in bios, you can probably put in a intel 8265 or 7265 wifi chip.

Ok thanks bro.

As spoken, lan ports are soldered on to the mobo , hence unfortunately you will not be able to do a hot swap per day.

For wifi cards, do check if yours are half height or full height pci-e wifi cards.

Do also Google and see if there is a white list. What white list means is basically an approved list of wifi cards that are approved to work on your machine

All laptops support USB wifi adaptor. If your router is an AC1200, your USB shld be equal or lower. Getting a higher speed will still operate at 1200 or lower.
