Nobody is forced to buy it fortunately. Nobody with half a brain would update from a Haswell to a Haswell refresh anyway. This refresh is still better than selling the same CPUs for the same price for 2 years instead.

Erm... That always happen. With people with full whole chunk of brain somemore.

Ever since my Sandy Bridge I will not see any performance leap so drastic that I will upgrade.

So sticking to my Sandy Bridge until Skylake at least.

I would buy a new mobo for better looks. But to devil's canyon only if it overclocks much better

looking forward to Devil's canyon to see if temp can be cooler than current Haswell at 4.6Ghz

It should run cooler because we know how crappy is the TIM used for Haswell.

I agree to a certain extend. When I delided my 4770k, the TIM was dry and crusty. Certainly not the type you would expect.

Then again, the consistency of the Haswell chips are so dog **** that I can't even get it to 4.6GHz without killing it.

there are people with loads of spare cash.. And they will chase technology releases..
