Hi, did anymore kana m1 bill by roming?
Recently I when to Malaysia, my phone is on FULL Divert to Another Number, they still charge me on the roming for the number that I divert to,

for the pass 10years I’m using this line, I always do the same thing even if I’m at Thailand, taiwan, hk, Elsa no problem

Somemore my phone line got multi sims! Meaning my guys can set phone 1 phone 2 or phone 3

even since M1 take out those service that can set phone 1 or 2 or 3 then they full divert cal work anymore

did anymore face the same problem as me?

I believe you need provide more context on how its setup etc. for the rest to better understand and advise.
And IIRC isn't incoming calls divertion considered local.

You mean you were charged on the number that you diverted to? Or you were charge on the number that divert out?

I was charge by the number that I divert out, meaning I was at Malaysia, I divert back to Singapore, they still charge me!

Example: You want to divert your M1 number to a RedOne SG number.

1) Setup the call divert on your M1.
2) Go to Malaysia, the M1 SIM cannot be active (i.e. turn the phone with the M1 SIM inside off).

It cannot be on roaming mode in Malaysia, otherwise, if someone calls you, it will divert to your RedOne number by making an outgoing call (charged at outgoing roaming call rate).

If your phone is off, the call will be diverted to RedOne - deducted from your local call allowance.

I think this is what happened in your case.

Hi,

I encountered the same situation as the thread owner. Throughout the years, I have done an unconditional full call divert to another Singapore number when I'm overseas. However, starting this year, I realised I'm being charged for roaming even when I do so when previously, it was only local Singapore calling rates.

I believe this started when I started opting in to their True 5G service.

ya, we got the same problem, but M1 still charge, and ask me pay for the bill,

their so call manager called me, told me that back end system change, so divert when on oversea, still charge as roaming.

end of the story, i pod my line to singtel, and nth happened when i go oversea on divert

Isn't diversion same as you making another call ?
Which means they will charge you same as the call out.

Not sure about m1, for my work phone corporate plan under SingTel, before I go Vietnam, I full divert all calls to my Simba spare line and turn off the SingTel Sim Card in my office iPhone.

So when my clients call me, I can receive phone calls via my Simba spare line using the Simba Voice App. Of course I can’t receive OTP from the SingTel SIM card, but it doesn’t matter since I don’t register the SingTel SIM card number to any banks.

So it is good to have a sub plan - say Heya, Eight as your Main line for bank OTPs etc so that you can receive bank OTPs sms and don’t kena voice call / data roaming excess charges since the telcos can’t bill you (you can’t access roaming in those unsupported countries anyway)

for M1 yes, but to other telco, once u full divert in sinapore nth will charge.
is your m1 sim OFF before you leave Singapore? If you only OFF your m1 sim when you are already in overseas, you have roamed. the call divert becomes a overseas call divert to a Singapore number.

I thought I have found a genius method to receive call while roaming.
so you need to turn off your main line for this to work?
i cannot verify this setup during my last trip because i didnt receive any call.
I am using Singtel as main and Simba as roaming

The reports seem to suggest it will work for Singtel. You can refer to the post above.

It may be working for Zero1, Zym, VIVIFI and CMLink. Singtel Gomo may work as well.

Alternative is to call forward all your calls to Eight / SIMBA before going to overseas. The "call divert" will just be normal Spore call mins usage and not international roaming calls

Refer to this post in Zero1 thread Post 1 and Post 2

I use my zero1 data roaming over there . Thankfully yesterday I follow your advice and setup call forwarding

today calls were forwarded

I quoting @cherynsq from the zero1 thread post . Apparently the zero1 line is in data roaming (still switch on), but all calls were diverted to the spare eight number. So maybe dont need to switch off the line and can receive OTP sms.
