Hi guys,

Kinda interested with the recent dual compartment chassis like o11d evo rgb, vision and such. But worried if the lack of air circulation around the drive bays would cause the hdd to get overheated. Currently using meshify 2 and it is typical tower chassis with fan blowing the hdd.

I understand the o11d evo allow 60mn fan to be mounted across two bays. I thought the newer versions would be better in that regard. I saw o11d evo xl, it allows 120mm slim fan to be mounted. But it seems to only face the outer bay. The hdd on the inner bay seems to be blocked by the outer bay. The o11d vision and evo rgb doesn't even mention anything about fan mounts on hdd bay. Same goes for Hyte y70 and nzxt h9. Perhaps experts here can advise. Thanks in advance.

Unless you are running the HDDs 24/7, I won't worry too much about heat. The HDDs inside external HDDs are even more limited in air circulation and I've used them for more than 24 hours continuously doing writes (when doing full backup) without issue.
