Hi All!
Wondering if any of you can help or know where I can get to temp fix my hdd so that I can retrieve the data out. The HDD is a Seagate Barracuda 2TB, and is 7200.14 (I think). The problem is that the HDD can be powered up but cannot be detected in the BIOS. I tried using an external casing and connect via USB to no avail. Could it be due to the PCB? Do you think I can access the hdd if the PCB can be swapped with a good one? Do you know of any person or place that can provide this service? The PCB FW is CC26.

There is nothing you can do to retrieve the data. In such case, only the professional data recovery service can help you.

Can boot up means PCB is working. Replacing PCB will not help. If bios also cannot detect, could mean firmware corrupted or heads damaged.

Ok...is there a way to get the FW flashed? Or could it be that the head is stuck? Someone suggested to knock the hdd to see whether it can get the head unstuck. I just need it to work long enough to copy some files out.

Normal Pc is unable to access the FW area. Need special tools.

If your disk can power up and spinning, means the heads is not stuck. Knocking will aggravate the situation.
