HDD Not Detected in Probox

Would like to check with experts here what has happened to my HDD.

I was using a Probox which houses 4 HDDs and recently it took forever for it to be detected in My Computer. I took them out and tested one by one and found that one of them was the culprit.

Whenever I plug this HDD in, it will hang Windows Explorer. If I ALT + Tab to My Computer folder to check if it's being detected, the folder will be (Not Responding). However if I unplug it, folder is back to normal.

There are no clicking sound from the HDD, so I doubt it's a mechanical failure. Is there any way to salvage this HDD?

First thing first. If your data is important, take out your disk and do an image.
The disk is having some problem with either the partition table or one of the heads is turning faulty.

I am not able to get the HDD detected, is it still possible to do an image?

If it cannot be detected and you have tried attached it directly to the SATA port, i guess that's the end of DIY.

The heads, firmware or partition could be corrupted and you will need professional help if the data is important enough.
