Hdd partition issue is hardware or software?

Was using it well until I restarted it this morning & a partition disappeared. It became unallocated space. Shocked but managed to recover it with Easeus partition recovery.

It's a wd black about 3-4 years old. 500g used everyday. Harder usage last few days. A few times explorer crashed & restarted day before.

Is it a hardware or software issue? I believe all data recovered intact. But don't dare to really use it until I can back up everything.

I dun have much knowledge on this issues but could be either. Anyway have u tries to see if there any error on your HDD?

Don't dare to touch it until I can do a full backup. Lol.

Paiseh, I mean like using cystraldisk info or any HDD monitoring device to see if there is anything error in certain part of the HDD. Not scanning the disk.

you dont scan how you know got error boh.
go download hdtune and let it scan 12h for bad sectors.
