Needing some advice here, I got a monitor with only VGA port, and a CPU with DVI (24 + 1 pin) & HDMI port

am currently using a HDMI to VGA converter adapter (bought from http://list.qoo10.sg/item/HDMI-TO-VGA-AUDIO-ADAPTER-OPTION/415173938?selectedOptions=), but after using a while when the adapter becomes hot, the screen keeps turning black for a split second (and repeats)...no gaming usage, only basic web surfing

Had use this same monitor on another CPU (VGA to VGA connection), totally no problems after prolong usage so likely the adapter that is the root cause...

Is this a case of faulty adapter? how should i troubleshoot this? the dvi to vga converter i found are all 24 + 5 pins (which won't fit into the 24 + 1 that I have)...

24+1 means digital only cannot convert to vga
24+5 has both digital and analog signals so it can convert to vga

Either buy another converter
Another monitor
Another graphics card

where should i look at to get a reliable converter? don't want to end up with the same problem with a better converter ><

can i say that with higher usage (e.g gaming) the converter will turn hot faster?

Will dp n hdmi ever fusion?

from my limited knowledge DP is PC tech moving forward and HDMI is AV standard which is common on almost all consumer electronics so they will still support for pc parts for reaching the masses. also because hdmi got 1.4a (2. also out for 4k 60mhz support i think) can cont. to upgrade in future...

yes indeed the standard dvi (24 + 5 pins) won't work for my situation as the dvi on cpu 9s 24 + 1 pins

will get a replacement and see if the problem still persists :D

i suppose a fully functional adapter shouldn't be too hot (on normal usage - web surfing only)?

waiting for a replacement adapter to test if the same problem occur, any recommendations of which brand to go for such adapter (in case the replacement resulted in the same problem)?
