Hey guys, don't know if I'm posting in the right place but here goes:

I just bought and assembled a new PC, while intending to reuse an old HDTV as a monitor.

Monitor: Samsung LA19R71B
Graphics Card: Leadtek GTX 970

When I first connected it via HDMI, it worked. However, after installing the driver, I get the error "Mode not supported" from my TV. The TV works when I'm booting it until the "windows is starting" screen after that I just got the "Mode not supported" screen on the TV. One thing to note is that when I booted in safe mode, the TV worked fine, and if I disabled the GTX 970 driver. Initially suspected there's a problem with the card, but it works fine when I connected to another TV also via HDMI, and the LA19R71B works with my laptop.

Searched the net and tried several ways to resolve it, but none worked. Tried uninstalling the driver and downloading and installing the Nvidia one instead. Tried changing the resolution numerous times in various settings (60Hz) to no avail. Tried the Duplicate or Extend screen thing also can't work.

Can anyone help me with this? Thanks and much appreciated.

Either resolution or refresh rate not supported by TV, boot into safe mode to change.

Tried booting into safe mode and changing resolution already, can only choose between 60 Hz and 75 Hz for some of the resolutions, but still unable to work.

You either connect to a monitor or change your TV.
