HDMI problem help

Hello, just installed windows 8.1 on my pc, not sure if its the windows causing the problem.
Anyway my monitor is connected to my gpu thru dvi to vga adapter.
When I plugged the hdmi cable into my gpu, the screen will get too large that there will be no cursor and icons on desktop.

This was before hdmi cable was in.

Not sure what im doing wrong so pls help.

Did you plug out your dvi-vga cable?

if I plug out the dvi-vga cable the monitor will turn black only plugging the hdmi cable into my gpu or igpu will cause the problem

So you have the hdmi and dvi cables plugged in at the same time?

Now I only have the dvi cable plugged into my gpu, the problem occurs when hdmi and Dvi are in

try power off com & monitor first, then dis/connect cable.

got taskbar icons but no desktop icons... win8 thinks ur running dual monitor & the desktop icons are only found on ur "first monitor"...?

the dvi/vga is now 2nd monitor so no desktop icons?

goto control panel
goto display properties
go inside find a icon that says display setting
onced inside
click on CLONE mode not Extended display
it does exsist..
i did it to my client who hav both dvi & hdmi dual display mode
when u finished
reboot
than do it onced again
make sured u identify your dvi is either 1 or 2
from there u click that dvi as primary display
than next time
you can changed to Extended mode

I managed to disable the second monitor now everything is fine, thanks for ur help.
