I have posted yesterday regarding on the HDR problems on the S22 Ultra, the issue being the screen dimming after moving the brightness slider to increase brightness. Some have spectucalated it may be due to the Vision Booster Samsung had bragged about. If so, I would like to know how to disable Vision Booster and publish a software update to fix the issue?

Please upvote this to gain more attention and for Samsung themselves to acknowledge this issue to fix this issue ASAP. One of the main features of this phone is for maximum viewing pleasure but how can I enjoy when the brightness is so dark and there is nothing I can do to increase the brightness?

No issues on that. Dim and showing brightness accordingly.

Same for me, 0 issues on dimmer.

Usually dimming issues could be related to -

The app that you're using has its only brightness level adjustment and it overwrites any command from Samsung's only brightness level adjustment.

You turned on adaptive screen adjustment and it keeps dimming your screen base on the sensor's detection of your physical environment / surroundings. Just turn off the the adaptive screen adjustment setting.

If still cannot, then check it out at ss svc center?

Good luck and all the best!!

Its because watching dark scenes in hdr is super dark, and increasing brightness does not increase brightness at all, which makes the scene hard to see.

I tried to find a HDR show to watch on Netflix and here are my findings -

As I have mentioned, some apps overwrite the adjust brightness control.

I don't know about watching HDR on other platforms but for Netflix, I can set the brightness to maximum output while watching HDR shows via Netflix app.

But when I try to further increase my brightness via Samsung notification panel, this is the maximum output it shows, regardless if adaptive brightness is set to on or off.

The answer to your question is no.

The brightness doesn't auto dim itself after I set maximum level via whatever streaming app I use.
