Head/earphones Recommendations Thread

Err obviously you haven't read the 1st post of my whole review impressions thread, I pre-ordered my from JP last time back in 2011 thus it's costed me ard SGD850. Have a thread here on HWZ as well which is slightly more detailed cause I added abit of RMAA measurements explanations into it, just do a forum search. I might tally the information and edit my thread again from HF soon, now that you have reminded me abt it.

Bass performance/quality is perfectly fine in my books, but take note im not a bass-head myself, it's ard the same as Shure SE535LTD those kind of qualities. What's sublime abt this pair of iems, is that I don't think the kind of level of details of clarity/resolution definition/transparency can be matched even by other well-regarded universal drivers that has more drivers than this, such as the UE900/W4R.

You shd however test this out for yrself first with yr own DAP source, some ppl seem to be slightly more sensitive to treble sibilance and while I'm certainly not one of them, I do know this pair of iems will react quite differently (negatively) especially if u're using these with a high Z output DAP device.

Atrio M5 has REALLY good sub bass and bass. However it has quite a closed soundstage. Cables are awesome, never ever tangles and durable. Comfort-wise it takes awhile for the bi-flange to be seasoned. Once it is you can barely feel it in your ears.

nv liked bi-flange's comfort.. when i first use my atrios with bi-flange i wasnt entirely impressed with it. but when i changed to shure olives tips, its a totally different beast.

I purchased my from Fujiya-avic back in Nov 2011, it was based on pre-order prices (49,800 yen) and there was no diff in pricing btw Fujiya's and Amazon's prices back then, as I had ordered my pair thru my friend b4 it's official release dates. Current prices for the CK100Pro's have surely fallen by quite alot due to how the Japan industry practises "open pricing" concept for their consumer electronic goods there, you can get it for slightly ard 31,500yen now frm Amazon.co.jp.

Hmm, I didn't rly catch what you meant by your last sentence? Kakaku.com IS actually in fact a price comparison website where it takes several well-known retailer sites to do price comparison. But you should prob disregard any other shops prices you see unless you have a physical japanese contact yrself there, payment wise is often a bitchy issue for us who are residing outside of JP, and so far Amazon.co.jp is the only known retailer im aware avail that accepts overseas cc/debit payments frm users outside JP. (so payment wise is considered much more user-friendly compared to other retailer shops)

currently using klipsch x10, koss portapro and akg k272hd. using sansa clip to fiio e7. listens to any genre of music.

really love the bass from klipsch x10. not thin at all for a ba. can fight with dd iem. so i would say the sound i looking for is warm and fun and musical? ciem i looking for must have emphasis on bass i guess. must be tight and not muddy. by muddy i would say it would sound like the bass from shure se115. thinking of either es5, jh16, heir 8a and maybe um. but i tried um merlin. the bass sound thin. not sure whether is it cuz of isolation. any other brand of ciem with the above criteria or close to please recommend too thank you

VPULSE but no volume control, or you can go for the UE400vm =) it has analog volume control for non Apple devices.

What are your thoughts on the 4R? =) Not bright enough? How about the regular SE535?

4R i feel the vocal portion is very very clear but i cant really feel the power on the bass. As for the regular se535, i prefer the voice i heard on the se535ltd.
