Buying first open back headphone

Looking to buy my first open-back headphone, Currently have Sennheiser HD439 for home and JVC IEM for outside listening.

- Your rig : PC, Sansa Clip+
- What type of usage : music, movies and gaming
- File format used in your source : MP3, MP4
- Genre of music you listen to : Rock/metal, acoustic, electronic
- Headphone / earphone type : Open back headphone
- Budget : 200 - 300

Looking maybe at HD518, 558 or ATH AD900X. Any others to recommend? Thankss

For your requirements, yes, ATH-M50X would be one of the good options. You can also check out another Audio-Technica model, ATH-MSR7 and Sennheiser Urbanite (if you don't mind on-ear design). Feel free to audition them in stores.
