Head/earphones Recommendations Thread

looking for headphone recommendations too. Probably open cans.

setup is my laptop, spotify/my own music, sony cas-1 speakers/dac
Was mainly using iems, um3x, heir 8a, jh16s, currently using um30.

headphones wise was using ath m50, currently using a sony mdr1abt

was actually looking at HD800 but can't seem to find a decent condition 2nd hand one

hd600/650? very good reference open cans also, and hd800 not many ppl sell--hd800s now is out but some still prefer the earlier version

someone quoted me 1000 for a pair of hd800, is that a good price? long time no keep up with the market, not sure how much a new set cost

from the last time i knew its 2099sgd should have drop in price for new set after hd800s release

just a piece of advice. don't jump into flagship cans just because they are cheap now to suit your budget. most of these cans require good dacs and amps to really sing. these are not cheap.

I enjoyed the sound from AAW a3h but the current waiting time (at least 8 weeks) is killing me.

RHA T20 is only a dual driver. More like downgrade from UM 30 Pro.

You will be surprised what the RHA T20 can pump out.
One of my favourite IEMs now.

Being dynamic drivers, it gets better with burn-in.

the gut of the cas1 is basically a pha2. getting loud enough volume is 1 thing, getting enough current for your totl cans to sing is another

its hard to monitor their stocks de leh, but sound decent if these are the first version. last time i bought a few of this to keep in bag so always have spare earphones available. heard the newer versions got quite significant improvement.

yea it lacks a little bit when i connect to the cas-1
