Durability depends on the user but you can consider something like Westone UM1 which has the braided cables - pretty lasting or also something like the Shure SE215 which has detachable cables so if it breaks you can get new cables

Sounds a good choice. It might not have good soundstaging but it has a pretty balanced sound. =)

Dunu Trident is a good choice at $59, slightly above $50.

How about the Sennheiser CX300ii? I would say the audio-technica CKS77 is a good choice though =)

I don't think flat cables are tangle free... one can prevent tangles if the IEM is stored properly
