Currently looking at V-moda m100, UE 9000 and AKG K67 and wonder which 1 is more suitable and more bang for the bucks! or any other headphones that are good in bass and clear! Audio technica m50 is clear but bass not so suitable for me

Dear audio fans, I am getting a earphone for my brother's birthday. He doesn't like iem where the bud is deeply inserted into the ears. Headphones a nono as well.

He uses his old iPhone 4 stock earphones and seems happy with the fit. Any recommendations for a earphone with a similar fit but have a better SQ? Budget $200.

Oh ya, his "rig" is a Samsung s3, haha.

The V-Modas not that suitable for rock, but since you're looking for a bassy pair, I'd say you'd be happy with them!

Btw, closed circumaural doesn't mean noise cancellation wor; they'd have to have that specific function.

IEM for running.. Again, I'll assume you're looking for bass.. UE350

the headphones you had mentioned are not noise cancellation models and offer little isolation.

for noise cancellation, there are the akg K490nc/495nc, harman kardon nc, fanny wang 3000 series

If you are referring to just headphones with passive noise isolation and not those with active noise cancelling that need to run on batteries I would say you will like the sound signature of the VMODA M100. The M100 slightly over $400 at $430 =)

For your sports earphones, can consider the Yurbuds Inspire or Focus =)

They stay secure in your ears and is sweat resistant =)

Seems like Yamaha EPH-100 can fit both and save you $122

Yup, noise isolation, sorry for the typo! mixed up with the terms again haha!

Tried v moda m100 today, the sound is really boosted and power but the bassy can get abit and slightly distorted at loud volume but afterall its good!

But UE 6000 is clearer and bass is smoother but not as power as V moda!
Caught in a dilemma!

Tested out a few and got these 2 to suggest =)

For setup 1 I recommend trying out the SMS AUDIO in-ear at $140
- Very good for pop/EDM/trance
- Mids less forward less than JVC FX3X

Setup 2
JVC FX3X - better treble control and soundstage, bass remains tight and controlled.

I'd have not tried out yet, as I'm trying to overcome the fear I have with in-ears as i've stopped them for 2 years plus. As i was having extreme discomfort with my ear drums, although the doctor could not find any wrong with it.

I was also looking for the old SoundMagic PL30, however the staff mentioned Stereo does not carry this anymore.

That's right we are not carrying Soundmagic anymore... if you really want to avoid in-ears I would also recommend the beyerdynamic DTX501p at $129 - it has a pretty balance sound and small in size, suitable for most of your genre of music.

Hi there, for headphones have you tried out the VMODA M100? =) It has punchy bass and good clarity in a compact size while remaining comfortable. =) Cables is detachable as well and it has an extremely durable headband.

You can try out the SOL REPUBLIC AMPS for your genre of music, good bass levels - needed for metal and certain pop songs.
