Looking for help to get a earphone for my bro as a gift.

Your rig: Samsung S3 (I think)
What type of usage: music
File format: mp3
Genre: tbh im not very sure :/ but im guessing more of pop/ classical kind? The kind of music he listens does not seem to be rock genre. More of those "softer"/ "quieter" kind of music.
Earphone type: IEM
Other requirement: Durable hopefully since he will be using in the army.
Budget: around $200. Can increase abit if necessary

was thinking of getting klipsch x10 sold in the market at hwz there or westone um1 or shure se215

Thanks!

SE215 has detachable wire so might be more safe for your bro in NS =) Armature driver more sensitive so I would recommend going for dynamic driver. =)

Lookin gat stereo's page I have narrowed these few down to my budget.
BEYERDYNAMIC - DTX41-IE
DUNU - TRIDENT
CREATIVE - EP-830
AUDIO TECHNICA - ATH-CKM55

which one will you recomend?

looking for something where the bass is strong, but I want it to be quite clear... not sure how you describe it because I'm not very experienced in this

Currently using Poweramp on galaxy tab 2.

Hi, I own a Dunu Trident and I would not think twice to recommend it, once you get a good fit on the ear tips the bass is nice and tight, very good build quality. You will not be disappointed.
Happy hunting

I went through quite a few earpieces in the last year alone - all due to dead in one ear ot he other

any tips for handling earpieces carefully to ensure this doesn't occur again?

dun anyhow throw
fold it nicely when not in use... the Dunu Trident cable tie to tie your cable properly
Do not loop around your phone, as it will create unnecessary tension on your earphone cable
If you have a pouch (most earphones have one nowadays), use it

And yes, always keeping it in a case/pouch when not in use always helps. ;) By the way, is your avatar of Joong Ki in Running Man? =x

The emphasis should not be on joongki but on moon chae won!

Very satisfied with the earpiece

Decided to head down to Stereo to audition IEMs.Current IEMs are bassy,so I'm not sure if i'll want the same sound signature.
I use my IEMs for commuting/going out w/ friends usually. Not for home usage :s13:

Looking at something that provides good isolation though.Budget's around 200-250 :D

Paired with Sansa Clip Zip.

Anyone can recommend me a earphone that is close or better than the Audio Technica CKS77 that has the iphone mic and volume as im about to get an iphone.

Does the iphone version of earphones work with computer or android phones? I dont mind if it dosent have the volume and mic function on computers or android phones. Just the sound.

Can try the Shure SE215 blue it has bass but definitely something different. =)

What about the CKS99i with mic/volume control? =) It works for Mac only since Mac using single jack for audio and mic.

GR07 MKII would be fine if you want something more balanced
EPH-100 if you still like bass sound signature

Westone UM1 is said to be the same sound signature despite the colors. =)

If you like something more engaging, the SE215 blue is a better choice. =)

I have an option to get a earphone from amazon. Now having dilemma of choosing between klipsch s4i II, x10 and shure se215ltd. Which one should I get? Listen to pop and rock music normally on iPhone.

Your rig: iPhone 5
What type of usage: music
File format: AAC
Genre: pop and rock
Earphone type: IEM
Other requirement: norm earphones (not IEM) simply doesnt stay on my ear. so i guess i have huge ear canal or shape or whatever. i also hope to get a value-for-money pair of IEM
Budget: around USD120
