Head/earphones Recommendations Thread

I consider it less then neutral, so it's kinda lacking for me.
Especially those frequencies in sub-bass region.

If it's not lacking in bass, um3x must be a bass monster xD...

I felt UM3x is richer in the low end, but BA200 is by no means lacking.. Only perhaps in the high end.

For those of you who use large headphones, the kind that cover the entire ear, don't you find it's a little too hot and uncomfortable to use in a aircon-less environment?

Not all supra-aurals are the same. Some are really comfy and can wear for quite some time and cover the ears pretty well with minimal fatique. Eg hd25 and ue4000 are really comfy.

depends on clamp force. my hd25 gets hot even faster on my ears than my k550. both are still comfortable.

You can try out the AKG K550 =)

Another few models to look at is the Sony MDR-1R and also the VMODA M100.

Don't forget to audition Sennheiser Momentum also, although it's RRP at $529.
Excellent for vocal

K550 to me feels slightly more bulky but if you like the sound why not?

Momentum more lightweight and portable, the Sennheiser Amperior is on-ear so its pretty small and portable too =)

Try all the AKG series ( sharper sound on high end), Sennheiser momentum as recommended & also Audio Technica ESW9 ( more warm & not so sharp on high range). If you are very fussy like me, maybe VModa 80 & 100 are not for you but you can try.Best to go Ion Stereo,wider range.
