Above certain age Singapore has subsidy, I think is free or something.

I went through jb Healthcare. I suggest think twice. Their standard snd quality is really different.

Their good doctors and nurses are mostly in Singapore and those better ones still in Malaysia are mostly in KL/Selangor, jb is their back water state.

The doctors sell up alot and the nurses really damn jialat.

Got see before one lady never wear glove handle sai, pee, blood test. I keep worrying she got mix up the bottles or not.

5 days of 3 tablets each, the nurse can tell you 3 times prescribe 10 tablets and is the nurse issue one.

Also many of the cheaper hospitals are not well equipped. Meaning can't check properly must rely on dinosaur era ultrasound, xray, no mri option.

Recently got one dentist in Singapore warn why not worth to do in jb. He is right you need follow up and the standard is really different.

I went for extraction at e&, a dentist with super good reviews. While I was there I overheard this sinkie young guy asking nicely to see the dentist because he still feel uncomfort or slight pain after many weeks. They seem reluctant to let him meet the dentist. Then I go research online, I realize they never treat the nerve well and requires another specialist to settle it.

What you pay is what you get.
I checked my wife pte Asia medic I think 500 to 800 for the package if walk in. Go do at govt get govt rates are better, especially if you are referred to specialists.
If you check in jb, Singapore side can't access the data and record it. Information is lost which affects your future diagnosis or you need to redo the tests in Singapore.

Cheap can be the most expensive.


If you die die insist that it's better to do there. Do your own research how well equip they are. This is important if you need deeper checks. Jb Dr can just keep quiet and smoke bomb you don't tell you it's necessary because they don't have the equipment or expertise. Get doctor memo, records and all diagnosis reports, scan and save every document and store it somewhere. Check they willing to do that and cost much or not first.


Pass all the data to the local hospital, and hope at that time of contact, they record accurately and you are still conscious enough to tell them.


BTW when i take their advise and go back to the Singapore doctors to ask for second opinion, they always politely give me a doubtful face. Some of the advice from JB doctors like came from Youtube drs.

That's what they can only afford and they plan to retire back there then it's a rational choice.

Not all hospitals are bad the good ones are mostly in KL, penang.

Those jb ones, not so or are quite new. The most advance ones also not really cheap.

SG ones got strict standard and alot of experience. The only thing bad about sg govt hospital is it's like factory style, all using evidence based or standard procedures that work for the majority. Is both good and bad at the same time.

I rmb some docs don't recommend too many health screenings. Its like you screen out got many inconsequential irregularities to scare yourself only.

for govt polyclinic, can request for additional blood checks or not ah? like besides the standard items, ask for aproB those related to cardiac health. GP can and pay more but not sure how it works in polyclinic.
