Any idea why?

So a lighter PSU with active PFC is considered worse than a heavier one with no PFC?

Weight/Mass ≠ Quality

Less weight/mass can mean 2 thing:

On the brighter side: Less volume of metal heatsink used due to real higher energy efficiency

On the darker side: Cut corners

Weight only shows you one side of the PSU but the type of PSU design and caps used is still the utmost priority to check...

I can give you loads of heatsink but i use lowest end CapXon, Teapo caps.

That's an old outdated theory that no one bothers with nowadays, where have you been these few years. Most people look for the 80plus rating nowadays.

FSP,Seasonic,corsair,Antec and you will be good to go

Have to second seasonic. their power supplies are rated beyond their load so imagine you buy a 650 probably can do extended load at 750-800.

Bigger + Heavier != Better.
Just buy reputable brands.
Not those brandless OEM from hell knows made with what.

PSU explode very jialat one.
Can burn all your hardware.
