that statement sounds dismissive.

look at it this way, over the years, I've collected over 100 of clone names of WeariedSoul.

Most of them got pbanned and deleted. How?

I clicked the report button and duly reported them.

All that was based on "my suspicion", if you will.

I suspected, I reported, and the mods/admin got those clone accounts pbanned and deleted.

the difference is, I do know, when I see a clone of WeariedSoul.

it's because nothing was done.

it's simple, just do a check and do what's necessary.

We appreciate you highlighting potential clones and hope you will continue to do so using the Report function.

Please understand that we cannot take action based solely on your words and suspicions. What goes on behind the scene is we have to check and ensure that the user you alleged is really a clone before we can take any action. To be fair to all users, we do this for all cases highlighted to us, including yours. I am sure you can understand that nobody enjoys being wrongly accused of anything.

As in the past, actions will be taken if users are found to be clones. However, if we find insufficient or inconclusive evidence that a user is a clone, we cannot simply take action based on someone's gut feel.

It will be helpful to our investigations if you can provide some form of evidence for your suspicions. Ask not only what others can do for you but ask also what you can do for others. In short, help us help you.

if ah beng's wife comes to me and tells me "ah beng's favourite food is hokkien mee."

Using your analogy:
What if Ah Beng comes and tell you, "No my favorite food is not hokkien mee. My wife is forcing me to eat hokkien mee everyday because that is her own favorite. How can you believe someone else's words about me without any proof or checking with me?!"

Bear in mind that our actions on users can and have always been complained, challenged, or refuted against us. If we take action without doing our due diligence and wrongly accuse a user of something, we have to bear the responsibility. We hope that you can understand our precarious position and why we have to tread on caution, even more so when it comes to heavy penalties such as permanently banning accounts.

Having said that, yes screenshots such as the above showing evidence that the alleged user is indeed a clone will be very helpful in our investigations to determine clone accounts.

the point is that if you ask ah beng's wife for evidence, she cannot show you it

she knows means she knows, and her knowledge is available to herself only, how do u expect her to give u it?

she cannot screenshot her knowledge to u then send it to u in your PM

so the truth is that, whatever steps you take, they cannot catch and pban all 100% of clones la?

some are pbanned, some are not, roaming around

if i have 5 clones and they all get reported to you, maybe you can pban 3 of them, and the remaining 2 you ask for evidence
