Help a first time builder. Need advices/comments/enlightenment

Hi bros,
i'm thinking of building a mid range gaming desktop.
Doing some work and school stuffs with it too.
Games intend to play (weekend gaming): Battlefield 1, Payday 2, Skyrim
Budget: 1K-1.2K
Wifi: required
OS: required

Here are the parts that i compiled after walking around SLS and taking all the brochures available.

CPU+MOBO: MSI B150A Gaming Pro + i3 6100
RAM: Kingston 2133MHz
HDD: Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM
GPU: Zotac GTX1050 mini 2gb
PSU: CM Elite V2 550W
Case: Corasair Carbide Spec 2 (b'coz its sachok)

Is i3 6100 enough to play the latest gen games?

Pls help me out and comment on the general parts that i had in mind. TIA!

RAM - You will need at least 8GB of RAM.

HDD - I would suggest WD Blue 1 TB. Make sure you get the 7,200 rpm version and not the 5,400 rpm version.

GPU - GTX 1060 3 GB would be better value for money than GTX 1050.

SSD - You will need a SSD for the OS and some programs. 240GB is preferable but 120GB will also do if you are on a tight budget.

Do follow the Lazada and Qoo10 threads for good deals, which can stretch your budget quite a bit.

no. the i3 6100 is decent but if u are playing anything that requires more cpu processing, it won't do. u need a i5 6400 at the very least.

up a notch and get the gtx 1060 3gb at the very least. gtx 1050ti prices in sg is pretty bad. don't bother looking if u are gaming.

consider a more budget psu like the fsp hexa 550w. if u are going for 1060, a 450w psu will do but it's entirely up to u.

casing i dunno much but get something that's easier to cable manage. and leave casing to the last. u dun want something that looks nice but with crappy parts.

oh and grab a ssd at the very least. at least a 240gb although i would tell u to push for a 480gb.

will u be comfortable with diy and buying parts online yourself to assemble? u could save even more money and get more performance out of your rig.

Can elaborate.. what type of 'some work' and 'school stuffs'?
if it like video/photo editing, producing 2D/3D.. dont skimp on your CPU..

if basic best at least have a i5. though 6400 is alright but for another 20 bucks u have more clockspeed as well might as well get 6500?

and this also a plus for the games u playing

monitor have yet to choose. Hahaha! totally a beginner in pc games actually.

well u need a budget to start with. for pple who more into fps, 144hz monitors can be very good. if u just play games like dota etc, a normal 1080p monitor @ 60hz will do.

i heard for budget, can consider the qnix ones. they are around $200+ on qoo10 if i remember correctly.

i went for the zowie xl2411. it's 1080p @ 144hz which is really enough for me.
