I accidentally formatted my micro sdcard in my S2 using clockworkmod recovery. (yeah I know I'm stupid, I thought the format sdcard is referring to the phone internal storage.
Anyone know what file format is the sdcard card in S2 on, and what data recovery apps I can use to try to recover?
I have tried the recovery apps from hiren bootcd, (but I dont have card reader, just connect s2 to pc using usb) but I think those apps need to see the card as a logical drive, which in my case cant see.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
For Flash Storage like sdcard in S2 or thumbdrives, i usually use this free program called recuva. Runs on windows
1) download and install recuva first
Recuva - Standard
2) Connect ur S2 to the computer under USB Mass Storage mode.
(Settings>>More Settings>>USB Utilities>>Connect Storage to PC>>Plug USB Cable to phone and Computer>>Turn On USB Storage.
3) Then Run Recuva App, Select Cancel on Recuva Wizard (since your sd card will have many different file types like music, vids, photos, etc), You will enter the Recuva main app
4) Click options>>Advanced>>Actions>>Scan for Non-Deleted Files. Click OK,
Then on the drive selection, select your SD card. Then click scan.
Restorable files are in green, orange for partially corrupted, and red for unrecoverable. My Advice? Just Check all the files, and recover the files to a place in your computer drive.
NEVER Restore your files to the same location where you are trying to rescue your data from (i.e. if recovering files from e:\ Drive, restore your files to any other drive except e:\ Drive)
Most Important: DO NOT write anything to your SD card for best chance of recovering your files. Writing files in is a surefire way of destroying restorable files in the SD card
Cheers.

Edit: Just realized how late my post was...hope you can still recover your files...also accidentally formatted my sd card before, but managed to get back my files luckily. Good luck
