My notebook is infected with virus and I need to reformat the OS but I can no longer find the restoration CD - what I can do?

If I am not wrong, Acer never give physical install/restore CDs/DVDs. You should have burned the images on the CD/DVD from the hard drive.

Assuming now you don't have not buned the image to CD/DVD and can't login to your pc, just download an OS installer from the net from another pc, making sure it is the EXACT some OS (home/profesional/business etc). Im sure there is a sticker on the bottom of your laptop with the OS serial number? Just input the serial number when prompted. Then download all the necessary driver packs from Acer website.

If you do not have another computer to download the image, ask around from your friends.

Acer do give physical CD previously (long time ago)
