Help: Advice On Targeted Degree

I've a few criteria but often made confused by the SIM UOL* offering degree programs (BnF, E, EnF).

Focal Point: Fundamental & Technical Analysis in Stock Market such as reading financial statements, utilizing formulas/instruments, observing Bull/Bear market trends, initiating Buy/Sell etc.

Secondary Point: Teamwork in Group Projects, General reading on Business/Finance/Stocks news, Direct/Life news on stocks

Based on these two criteria, may I know the most recommended degree program to take up with rationale please?

From what I see, you want a BnF and E which is the reason why I advice you to take EnF.

All UOL modules are there to mix & meet your need for learning & cert to be awarded.

No much effect cause BnF, E, EnF does not have prof bodies like accounting & etc.

Thanks for the swift reply. I expressed vast interest in the Stock market environment yet do not want to contemplate Economics. However, I am equally worried on the prof. bodies such as Accounting and Entrepreneur models.

Technical analysis is not taught in academic other than empirical evidence area. Fundamental analysis is highly covered in academic other than financial economics.

You would be better off taking BnF, taking financial reporting and Valuation and Security Analysis as 'electives'. AnF is alternative choice. E and EnF do not meet your requirements based on the subject choices required.

You only need to take 'Valuation and Security Analysis' (VSA) and 'Investment Management' (IM) to learn buy/sell analysis on financial instruments (not limited to stocks). They are within your reach if you take BnF.

In academic area, buy and sell analysis is based on the comparison between intrinsic value (your estimation price) and market value in either fundamental analysis or mathematical analysis.

In the real world, successful investors have much more methods in their process than what academic area offer. Simply to say, you will learn common and logical ones. Newer or innovative methods are in their successful investors' mindset. About two or three business schools in America whose reputation is in finance area use successful investors to lecture.

In practical sense, buy and sell analysis can vary a lot depending on how you structure your investment process based on your own philosophy.

You should get the rough idea about it.

There isn't one course or academic program that give you highly practical investing (case study) methods in Singapore. All available finance-style academic courses in Singapore will give you the knowledge how to value stock, how to calculate financial instruments, etc at certain extent.

However, there is fundamental investing analysis lessons by professional investor with strong research in practical investing areas. I network-ed with him online and I was subsequently introduced to taking the pay-per-class under him.
