[HELP/ADVICE] Windows Installation

I just received a custom built PC from my cousin as he built from extra parts he had. The only problem now is that there is no OS installed.

Now the issue and my question is..

- I have received these from a colleague.
- Dell Windows 8.1 CD
- Dell Windows 8 Key

Can I use this to install and activate it on my PC? Because as I saw somewhere online, OEM companies like Dell are unique and will only activate on Dell hardware.

Any suggestion regarding this matter would be of great help.

Ur cd key got used before or not ?

He claimed it was a spare key lying around and not used so it should be working

Should be able to install windows 10

Just install window 7 download from Internet and upgrade FOC windows 10
