Hi, I would like to get some feedback and advice on a new build i am planning.

Going by Best Bargain Price List its still slightly overbudget by a little so i would like to see if i am over budgeting for some items.

Requirements:
1) Desktop Needs to Be able to support Autodesk Revit and Autocad AT THE SAME TIME
2) Able to do Photoshop , Google Sketchup
3) Play games Minimum LoL ( i know LoL is a doesnt need high specs, the main thing is still the 2 above)

Intended Building:
Cpu : i7 - 3770 (3.4ghz)---------------------- $329
MBD: Asus P8Z77 - V--------------------------$298
Ram: Kingston DDR 3 4gb x4-----------------$156
SSD: Samsung 120Gb--------------------------$169
HDD: WD 1Tb-----------------------------------$90
Casing (Mid Tower) + Powersupply-------est. $250
GPU: GTX 650TIDCIITOP1G--------------------$259
27" Samsung Monitor (or 2 21.5") ------------$348

Current Final: $1900

Hope to be able to cut it to about 1700, or lesser.

Please do let me know if i am overproviding.
Or if there are better lobangs.

Please Help.

Thanks.

hi there
do you intend to OC your setup?

3770 and 3770K are 2 different chips, 3770K is unlocked chip which can be overclocked, 3770 is the locked chip

depending on your selection of chip will determine the selection of motherboard, if you are not overclocking you do not need a Z77 board, just a simple b75 or h77 is good enough

rams wise get 2 x 8gb, its cheaper now, each stick is about 77

Case and psu wise i think 250 is abit too much :s13: can look at cases liek sharkoon t28 while PSU if you dont mind non modular theres FSP raider series, lets say sharkoon t28 + fsp raider 550 would be 78 + 86

for GPU do consider 7850, performance is better and a little cheaper

ssd can consider plextor pro 128 which is 160

when u decide whether you want OC or non OC, it will be much easier to decide.

also do note if you want to buy OC pc, it is recommended to buy a 3rd party cooler too as Ivys are quite hot when you OC them, which means additional $ again

Hi sharkapl,

I am not sure if i would need to oc my setup.
So far those programs i have seen are able to run on pcs without being oc w the right setups.

For the brands of the ssd, casing, psu. I have not heard of them before. I am worried about quality wise. As for the gpu i already decided on the GTX 650ti. Fan of nvidia. Haha

Does a simpler mbd, compromises with the amount of power it outputs. Like one like Z77 would def last longer than those you mention? Yes or No? I'm not sure. Please advise. Thanks. It has given me good food for thought.

I think i am looking for high processing and multitasking ability. More than oc. Cause those are design programs which revit is used for 3D rendering as well. But dont think i would have a need to actually OC it.

dont really need to OC for the 2 programs you need, have friends still running core2duo chips

that said Z77 boards are meant for overclock, if you buy a non K 3770 you are just going to put the extra functions which you can use to waste, if you are worried about build quality of B75, i will say so far so good, there is always H77 board too

plextor SSD is pretty popular in the hardwarezone
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/s...r-ssd-discussion-events-thread-4086943-6.html

casing wise sharkoon is bang for buck, there are other brands, casing is up to you as some people take looks into consideration

PSU- FSP is one of the better players in the PSU market now, you can easily google for their products, quite popular in HWC too, i have built majority of my rigs using FSP psus, gave no problems

GPU wise no worries, i overlooked that nvidia would be the better choice for your case

also we have to remember this, hardware purchases always requires luck

you can approach forumer like GS (he has a shop in SLS, friendly guy)
or you can approach fortran, i can pm you his contact if you need, goes to your house and setup the PC for you, good reputation and nice guy
