[help] biostar ta790gx A3+ error

Hi,

PC has been fine until suddenly this morning it doesn't bootup anymore. Power is supplied to all components (fan, case, harddisks, usb, etc) but screen blank and no POST beep at all.

Mobo LED1 and LED2 debug indicators are both OFF, so according to manual means "abnormal: cpu/chipset error".

I removed all 4 RAM sticks, same thing. I removed CPU, same thing (of course). Re-seated these components still same..

1) Can anyone offer troubleshooting advise please (I have no other PC to swap/test parts though)

2) If mobo is confirmed dead, please recommend a suitable low-cost replacement for my old rig. My current specs:

- PSU Zalman 500W
- CPU AMD X2 555
- 4 x 2GB DDR3 RAM
- Sapphire HD5750 PCI-e x16
- PCI sound card
- 4 Sata devices
- 2 IDE devices

If you remove your CPU, of course the computer won't even boot. Your mobo is already telling you the problem lies in the CPU and the only way to see it's the problem is to get another.

You're right. I edited my post to clarify that I removed those parts to double check debug indicator and also to re-seat the RAM and CPU.

If only I can be sure whether cpu or mobo is spoilt... if not I'm screwed.. is there any friendly SLS shop that can help me check first, so I can buy the replacement component from them?

Bro, u staying which area? I using the same MB since 2009 and have upgraded 3 months ago. If u want i can give the MB to u provided u come collect.
