Managed to get a pass for 2 ramsanyway if u want to get the best results to source out the issues will be u test 1 ram at a time with 4 different slots. so total 16 test to provide u with the most accurate reading. but u can clean those gold contact on the ram to test it and see.
if not u check with convergent if they are able to help u test and see, once they have the results den ask u come back and see which ram is usable for u and which one they send it back for repairs.
I bought 2Ă—2 at different times. Is different version but same model. So would that cause problem?Well, glad that you have found out the problem. RAMs have limited lifetime warranty. What that means is the distro will have specific model until its End-Of-Life. Once that happens, you might have to purchase a new set of RAMs, this I am not sure but can check with distro.
I would also advise to change your RAMs as a set, if you have purchase like a kit; for eg. you bought those 4x4gb rams in one complete package. Cuz RAMs are produced in different batches and some might not be compatible with other batches and might give issues as well. (other forumers, please correct me if I'm wrong).
