Help: bsod on installing windows

something went wrong with my shuttle-pc.
When i am installing windows 7, will bsod and reboot upon hitting the screen on copying files
installing ubuntu, will have kernel panic

checked and replaced ram, still the same
resit cpu and fan, still like that
the best i did so far is change the sata to gen 1 (in bios), copying files can up to 1% then bsod.
I can definitely create/delete partitions though.
issit the hdd controller / motherboard up lorry liao?

You can go to Windows 7 DVD Repair option, select the Command Prompt and try to perform a chkdsk C: /f to see if there are any issues with your HDD. Better way if you could get your hands on another computer, is to burn Hiren's Boot CD and try to do a proper disk checking on your HDD

changed a hdd also same thing
and i swapped the hdd to another computer, can install windows leh.

Ya change the dvd drive. Last time my dvd drive spoil also can't be used to install.

It's not all of the mentioned.

It's mostly likely the RAM. If you have 2 or more pieces of RAM installed, try with only a single piece and reinstall Windows.

If you only have a single piece however, then try borrowing from someone to test.

Another possibility is if you do overclock your system. Set to default speed if so.

if you say the other comp can install windows, then use the other comp to install windows, but do not put in a CD key (it will install a trial), then bring it to this comp and try to boot?

Well in the 1st post he said he checked the ram. So I assume the ram is ok. And based on his cpu I dun think he got over clock ba. Wait for him to clarify what he actually did to test the ram.
