Just DIY my new rig..and when I reuse my old 1TB WD BLACK HDD with OS windows xp on it to boot up....I get BSOD during the window xp load screen. To add on..I can go into bios setting only. Plus everything is working fine when I change back to my old mobo+ CPU can load up the window xp on the hdd no issues. So anyone got any idea whats wrong? Also have tried re slotting both my ram... 1 at a time on the 4 different ram slots.

I have boiled down to 3 conclusion...

1) Could it be asus b85 pro gamer mobo+ haswell i5 4460 cpu doesnt support OS Windows XP?

2) Or could it be Windows xp OEM is tied up with my old mobo therefore cannot bootup?

3) mobo+cpu is faulty?

After some googling am now gonna go down and get a new HDD and new dvd rom to see if it work...

You can't just transfer the hdd w/ OS from one machine to another and expect it to boot.
M$ put this curb after Win98

WinXp isn't smart enough. Win8.1 can boot from different mobo chipsets without reinstalling os though.
