Hi Gurus,

I am currently using a C2D Q9450 with Geforce 9600GT..yes, its really old, but it serves my needs and occasional light gaming eg Starcraft , DAO, Diablo,Left4dead, Far Cry..
I will be relegating this to be my HTPC.

My new rig:
My main purpose is productivity, internet surfing ( multiple tabs ),
1080p movies, torrenting, and occasional light gaming.

Budget around $700.

No need: OS, Monitor, optical drive, keyboard and mouse, HDD will reuse.

Require:

Cpu - i3 or i5
Mb -
Ram - 8gb, 1600
PSU - 500w or 600w
SSD - no idea since never use before
Casing - prefer side loading for HDD, able to fit 4 or 5 of them.
? Define Mini, Silencio,

GPU - preferably around $100,... optional for now, since hardly have time to play..will add later perhaps year end. But able to handle new games similar to what I play.

Thanks guys.

u don't need it, doesn't mean the rest of the world don't need it too... =:p

Yes, for that few that needs it but the majority don't so it's just additional features that average user don't require. So end up paying for feature that you don't need.

Thanks...could you please help me refine my rig:

Cpu - i3-4130

Mb - can recommend something with 6 SATA ports...1 for sata optical drive, 1 for SSD, and 4 for HDD.
HDMI port is a must

Ram - Crucial 8gb ddr3, 1600 ~ $90

PSU - Seasonic g360 ~ $86
Should I go for a 500W PSU...a lot of drives, and a GPU in future.

SSD - Plextor m5s 128gb ssd ~ $130 or Crucial m500 240gb ssd ~ $155 (amazon)

Casing - prefer side loading for HDD, able to fit 4 or 5 of them.
? Define Mini, Silencio,
?Fractal design arc mini r2 ~ $130

GPU - Zotac gtx750ti ~ $205 ..any other alternative?
hopefully price will drop at year end to my budget of $100-$150 :)

Msi b85m g43 have 6 Sata port

Psu is enough for ur usage even with a gpu since u getting a entry level one, they usually dun require 6 pin power , drives doesn't use that much juice anyway

Case just go YouTube see review

Gfx can consider Zotac gtx750 ~ $169 or Powercolor 7750 ~ $130, still the gtx750ti is a good choice if u intend to play latest games
