Uses: Light gaming, hardly touch latest high end games. Heavy surfing with numerous tabs. Torrenting. Android emulators on almost 24/7.
Don't intend to OC.

Plan to pass down my I5-3470 rig to the young ones for work.

Getting most from newegg:
--Ryzen 5 2600 (*done*)
--G.Skill TridentZ RGB 2x8gb 3200 (*done*)
--EVGA SuperNova 750 G2 (*done*)

--Asrock B450M Pro4
--SSD (preferably samsung 860 / crucial mx500 500gb)
--Sapphire RX580 8GB

Reusing my Dell monitor, HDDs, Fractal Design R4 casing.

Any advice is appreciated. Would be my first time on AMD.
Thank you

MATX board inside R4 (Full ATX) like abit wasted. Should consider something like this for 2600 or 2600x. Nice big heatsinks on the VRM to help ur 2600 to either boost via XFR2 or manual overclock easily
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-TOMAHAWK

Highly recommend u buy at least Ryzen CPU + MB locally. Warranty for these two always a good thing.

GPU now RX 580 on lelong locally. RX 580 8GB if u know where to look can get for less than $300 and is faster than GTX 1060 6GB now.

RAM i recommend G.Skill Trident Z or Trident Z RGB 2933Mhz/3200Mhz. Their Sniper line also good for Ryzen

Ask the people here, they will know the advise above is based on a great amount of exp ;)

edit the ssd. earlier today i f-up and ordered the wrong crucial capacity ssd. went with samsung instead seeing the crucial 500gb is oos.

sadly, vega56 i think is out of my budget...
Mobo abit risky, mostly getting locally due to warranty.

PSU get Seasonic M12II 620, it will handle the 2600 + RX 580 easily. Later u can replace with RTX 2070 or below if u feel like it

if got plans to go RTX 2080 and above, go for Seasonic Focus Plus 750W

hey is it a good idea to get seasonic 620 on newegg sold by beachaudio? currently they selling 88 with free shipping, more cheap than newegg with shipping or sim lim

is beachaudio trusted/reliable?

bro u know what i accidentally bought it from bleachudio without knowing it is 3rd party vendor. which i then cancelled order. scared la even slightly cheaper. i see some of their reviews with complaints on shipment. i see newegg itself also got listing leh slightly more expensive compared to bleachaudio after code?

It is g2 which is higher spec and cheaper than 850w g+. 750w is already good enough for most cases.

BTW asus amd rx cards were on offer on Qoo10 recently.. Local warranty and 50% off. But I think it's all gone. If I didn't already buy the rx580 rog I would have gotten vega 56 for 467 on Newegg. With $30 off its only 437!

I think the vega 56 still available.. I reckon if you buy it and not happy with it after using, it can still fetch a good price second hand. Likely you want make much of a loss unless gpu prices tank next year.

But of course the idea is to use it for 1440p gaming.
