[HELP] Building a gaming rig ~$1k

Hi bros, been wanting to build a relatively cheap gaming rig for a while now but I decided to seek your expert opinions first. It'll mainly be for gaming and everyday stuff like movies and downloads. Planning to run games like Dota2, FFXIV, Battlefield 4 on max settings..

NOTE: Budget does not include monitor, OS and peripherals

Parts I've narrowed down to:
Asrock B75M-DGS + i5-3470 (Should I go Haswell?)
GTX650 TiBoost DCII 2GB or GTX660 (Asus, MSI, Palit, Gigabyte? Not sure)
WD Caviar Blue/Black 1TB (Read that the black is more reliable)
Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz (2x4GB)
Random dvd disk drive
Sharkoon T28 casing
Seasonic S12II 620W Bronze

Others not included in budget:
DELL U2312HM
Keyboard
OS
SSD (to be added in the future)

Is there any significant feature people look for in the mobo? Cause it has usb3.0 and an integrated sound card, graphics and I don't think I need anything else.. Also, guy told me that the GTX650 TiBoost is almost on par with the GTX660 so not worth paying the extra $$$. If anyone has a better 'bang for buck' recommendation, do feel free to tell me! Open to suggestions, thanks

HD7850 is better than 650 Ti, can be cheaper or same price depending on which brand you wanted to get for the 650 Ti

Yes gtx650ti boost almost on par with gtx660. But what that guy tell you is rubbish on the extra money. A gtx650ti boost already reached its chip peak performance. A gtx660 has a better performance.

Furthermore considere getting another type of rams. Ram have shot up above $100.
For your budget 1k without os monitor and other peripheral.

Looks like a great deal considering its gtx760 but I've heard that Palit's get really noisy under heavy usage though. Can anyone confirm this or have another recommendation?

Is not noisy. I'm using mine at 65% fan load. No noise is noticeable. Once adjust to 75% can hear a bit of noise. Of cause at 100% it sounds like a chopper. But I doubt you will go till 100%.

If you so scared of the fan noise can get the MSI twin frozr edition.

Cause when it is running at auto fan speed will not go that high one lol. Max 48% playing bf3 on ultra and AA 4x load temp 72 degrees. With manual fan speed increased to 65% I get 64 degrees. Way much cooler. The program by palit auto rpm wont go more than 50% fan speed.

Don't just use an ssd only. The more you write on your ssd the faster out worn off your ssd. Best is to get both.

But since you got budget constrain then get the HDD will do.

Get a gtx760. And BTW if you are getting from tradepac you could easily save a good sum of money. MSI gtx760 2gb twin frozr + seasonic m12ii 620w ~ $499

Thinking of squeezing in an SSD cause I have a spare 320GB HDD at home. Anyway, thanks for your input Roy but just one last question..

I'm assuming Palit's GTX760 is the non Jetstream version hence, being a whole $100 cheaper than the other bundles. But is the price cut worth it?

Non jetstream is around $359. Fsp raider 550w ~ $58 about $17 savings. Downside palit is 2 years warranty.

If you think you don't mind the warranty period then MSI or giga will be the next available.
