Hi guys need some advice.

I bought a new zotac 970, tried to install it to my cpu but it dont boot.

Here it goes.. I have a asrock z77 extreme mb, correct me if I'm wrong if you dont turn on a few days it take a longer time to boot. (Usually dont off the comp)

After I plug e gpu to e pci-e slot, try to boot my comp, its is constantly at the window xp loading page, can load for 5 to 10 min.. Then black screen..

What happen? Did I install wrongly? Pls advice..

I presume ur com starts well without the gpu?

TS, are you using old hard disk for windows xp?
Don't expect your 970 to work under xp.

Do you have multiple harddisk? Maybe try removing all the hdd and only leave your OS hdd to boot. See if it helps.

At the same time look at the motherboard and see if there's any solid red light that is delaying the boot process.

Is ur OS installed onto ur SSD?

In any case, do try to get wins 7 HE 64 bit at least.

No point getting high end components when the bottleneck is ur OS... lol, which is rare here.

There are XP drivers for the gtx 9xx series... I'm dual booting XP/8.1 without problems. Of course performance is better in 7 & up. It can be your HDD starting to fail, PSU inadequate. Did yr problems start immediately after gtx 970 installation or after some time?

Edit: just re-read your post. The long time taken to boot can be indicative of a soon-to-fail hard drive. Try booting with the HDDs (except your OS SSD) disconnected. Also, did you clear your old GPU drivers before installing the GTX 970? XP is very fussy with drivers.
