Got A New GPU and This Happened

Alright bros heres a little background info before the problem started. A couple of days ago i had replaced my gpu and ram. The gpu was upgraded from Powercolor 7770 to Sapphire dual-x R9 280 while the ram was replaced with the exact same one (Gskill 1600mhz 8gb). Currently my specs are

i5-3470 & Asrock B75M-DGS
G.skill 1600mhz 8gb
HP DVD RW
Hitachi 500gb
Sapphire dual-x R9 280
FSP Raider 550w

Aside from the newly replaced gpu and ram the other parts just turned 2 this year. Oh and I'm using windows 7.

Now here comes the problem. A day after i replaced the parts, i was playing dota 2 when suddenly my computer froze with the display still on and producing a buzzing sound. Keyboard and mouse were completely unresponsive and i had to force shut down my computer. I managed to turn it on again thinking it was nothing but this time is froze again at the game's loading screen.

After force restarting it AGAIN, i did not enter any games or programmes this time and downloaded CCleaner to cleanup my computer as i read on some forum that it may help. I then restarted my computer properly this time round, HOWEVER it failed to even reach the login page before freezing again. Subsequent attempts to restart my computer produced the same results, with the computer freezing at various timings. Sometimes it lasted all the way past the login screen before freezing shortly, other times it froze a few seconds after bootup.

I have tried to enter Safe Mode but it even freezes there as well, leading me to suspect that its a hardware problem. Interesting thing to note is that the longer i leave my computer off, the longer time it takes to freeze up and if i constantly try to boot my computer it freezes much faster each time.

Im really at my wits end haha, can't believe my comp is dying on me so quickly after i bought it new parts!! :((( Any help would be appreciated guys and thanks so much for reading through this long post!!

You really a noob. lol jkjk

Ok. Highly suspect that the ram got issues. Might be having some high errors.

Try downloading memtest86 and load into thumbdrive. Insert thumbdrive and restart the pc. It should go into testing mode. Let it run. See if theres any errors.

Hey bro thanks for the fast reply and will definitely try out ur suggestion!! Haha no joke i really am that bad at IT stuff. Anyway i just wanna ask out of curiosity, coz i had never suspected the new ram to be faulty and had previously thought it could have been the psu fault. Is the current psu (which is 2 years old already) suitable for my new gpu? Or are the above mentioned symptoms signs that my psu has degraded so badly that its no longer powerful enuf for my computer? Once again thanks for giving my problems a look! :)

Dont think so is psu issues. Just try out ram testing first. See if ita the issues.

can also try 1 stick by 1 stick :)

unlikely that all stick is spoilt at same time

Alrite guys ive tested the ram and it shows that its working fine, so i thought it was the new gpu not being supported by my psu and took it out. Less than 5 mins after logging in my account using integrated graphics the computer froze....again.....

In the end i tried to test the mobo by removing ram and listening if there were any beeps and it did, does this mean that my mobo is working perfectly?!

Wtff this is stressing me out so much %$$%¥#^!!! What exactly is causing it to fail?!?!?!

If rams are fine, and you continue to hang due to gpu. And if you troubleshoot it via integrated GPU, you might be having a GPU issues.

Not PSU.

You might wanna take the opportunity to remove the drivers of the GPU and reinstall a fresh one from AMD websites.

The computer freezes even when im using integrated graphics. Doesnt it mean its not my new gpu problem as the freezing persists even WITHOUT the new gpu inside? On a side note ive cleared cmos as well although it didnt help at all.... T.T Could it be a mobo problem??
Once again sorry for all the trouble guys really really appreciate that u guys take the time to try to solve this $%#!¥ problem!

Have you checked the HDD or SSD if any?

Try booting only with 1 ram, and no HDD, SSD and GPU. See whether does it still hangs?
