[HELP] Computer refuses to power up..

Recently, my desktop refuses to power up properly.. When I try switching it on, the power light will turn on briefly (maybe just one or two secs) and the fans will start to spin briefly before the rig loses power.. And the cycle repeats..

Before I encountered this issue, there were some instances where the rig will restart itself..

Could it be that my PSU is spoilt? Or could the fault lie with the MB?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks guys!

most probably psu... if possible loan a psu from your friends and try?

The parts are 2 yrs old alr.. Unfortunately, I don't have any spare PSU to try it out with.. Is there any other ways to test?

Also, the distro for superflower PSU is tech dynamic right? They're only opened on workdays?

please elaborate "briefly". is it less than 1sec, ie. you just see the lights turn up and then the com power down immediately.
do you have to remove power cable and reattach for the com to power on again?

Disconnect all power cables from motherboard and just connect to a case fan, try jump start the PSU.

Ya.. The lights come on and then it goes off again.. It won't even display the motherboard boot screen..

I didn't try removing and reattaching the cables..

Disconnect all power cables from motherboard and just connect to a case fan, try jump start the PSU.

I didn't try removing and reattaching the cables..

i dont think it is the psu problem, but just confirm it by jumpstart.
it sounds like something short circuited. remove all cables and boot with bare minimums. ie. 1 stick ram, no odd etc.
just 2 months ago i have this situation as well, turn out my graphic card burned out and caused a short circuit. the fact taht the lights go off immediately shows that the psu is doing its job to save your other parts from further electrical damage

The fans starts spinning and offs itself again after 1 sec and this cycle repeats itself right?

Had this exact problem last time. The issue lies with the 24-pin power connector[It's the one with the most pins][The one connecting your PSU to your motherboard] you'll need to shift/reseat it properly

Thanks for the advice provided thus far.. I've tried jump starting my power supply and it works..

Hmm.. So this means one of the components must have short?

I tried starting with just the MB.. No power to everything else.. The same issue persists.. Does this mean that it's my MB giving the problem?

check your mobo for popped caps or inductors. around the EPS connector area. they usualy 1st to go.

I've checked, none of the caps appear bloated or popped..

Really wonder what's the issue

Hmm.. Is there anything else I can do to pinpoint the issue? I tried disconnecting the case front panel too.. Managed to boot into Windows.. But then problem came back again.. Then I disconnected all case fans.. Don't work too..
