Posting this from another laptop.

My Dell laptop (Inspiron 5000 series) is not being charged atm. The battery also does not last anymore. Only around 20mins charge. Maybe cos I bought it when I was in China. Laptop monitor had just died when I was there so needed one urgently and just went to shop and buy.

I have no idea whether:
a) battery is spoilt and needs to be replaced. No idea how to take it out. I just tried taking out the four screws at the bottom and not able (don't dare to pry out the bottom) and take out the battery.

b) laptop charger is spoilt and needs to be replaced. But got the power light leh. So should be ok, I think.

c) charging point on the laptop is spoilt. No idea how to check this. Think this may be the issue.

d) BIOs problem. Another possibility. Unable to go into BIOs settings cos battery almost dead.

e) Others

Even if battery is spoilt, I don't really need a new battery cos I don't really bring outside anymore. Based on photos, how do I take out the battery and try to see if I can run the laptop on just AC?

Is there a shop recommendation (either SIM LIM or 10kkj) where I can bring my laptop and they can help me?

Long-term though, I will have to get a new individual PC or new individual laptop cos it seems that Dell laptops have a problem with this non-charging issue :(. So getting a new battery and/or adaptor may is probably not the long-term solution.

Looking for help on how to remove the battery properly and shop recommendations for further troubleshooting (if necessary).

Thanks.

If charger is spoilt, (be it the charger or the charging point), then probably you won't be able to use the laptop once the battery is depleted and with the charger plugged in and switched on.
