[HELP] Desktop caught fire after turning it on

Hi guys,

After I finished self-assembling my desktop, I turned it on and to my shock, a fire started at the bottom part of the hard drive bay.

Quickly turned power off and discovered one of my hard drive fried.

Also, since there's a backplane connecting several drives together, is it safe to say the entire backplane is kaput? Do I have to get a new casing?

Lastly, will eternal asia accept the burnt drive for RMA?

Whats your PSU? It is like a sudden surge of current fried your HDD...

Can you power on your computer again or everything is dead?

I bought a faulty psu b4, motherboard kanna fried lol. Might be psu

Best to check the other parts in your comp too. What PSU are you using and did you use any Molex to SATA power adapter for this drive?

PSU is Corsair CX600M, still able to power on and boot into BIOS. However, only 3 of the 6 drives are detected. Tried switching the power/sata cables around, no luck.

Are the other drives spoilt too?

Yeah, I removed that thing and connected the cables directly to the drives. Suspect that the other 3 drives are gone too....tried a different drive and it's able to be detected in BIOS.

Ya , it happened to my Vantec harddisk docking as well. The backplane went up in smoke but my harddisk is safe.
