Help!! desktop problem

hi guys,

desktop specs: intel i7 930, msi x58 gd65, 12gb ram, sapphire hd 6970 reference board, Seagate 1tb, Silverstone power supply 850w and 3r system casing.

I hv this one problem. whenever I start to play game or watch anything related to video including youtube and normal videos, my com screen will just turn black and hangs there. getting task manager, ctrl+alt+del does not work. I hv to force restart.
anyone got a clue here?

tested so far.
ran ram test. pass.
reinstall os on different hard disk, installed basic motherboard drivers and graphic card drivers and ran the benchmark, it would just blank the screen.
tried with a different graphic card also the same.
power supply tested using the hardware tester to find whether is power supply still giving sufficient power.

only haven change is power supply and mobo.

Have you updated the bios to the latest?

Also having the same issue like you but I suspect is my graphic card! Or if you have different pci-e slots try the card on it?

I am unable to update bios via the bios. I hv to use the msi update utility. haven done that but gonna try that. need internet connection.

for graphic card, I hv tried different card on a diff slot also does not work. I tried 6970 card on my own com, it works juz fine.

Due to the risk of bricking your mobo with a failed bios update, bios updates are not recommended, unless they are necessary to fix significant bugs or CPU performance issues (see Bulldozer for an example).

I think it is best that you test your mobo.

so far I don hv any same lga mobo for the processor. unable to do the test. but highly suspected mobo?
