Help! DIY Com Project gone wrong

Hi. As a newbie. I tried to build a computer on my own with as much research as I could do.
In the end, after fixing up everything.
I heard a spark and repeated beeps.
Idk what to do now..

Haswell i5-4670k

Motherboard
Z87X-D3HP

What has gone wrong?

No nothing. I don't think its a spark. But It sounded like a spark. then repeated short beeps.

I just heard a -****- sound when I on the com.

What do you mean by standoff? I just installed the motherboard to the casing out of the box.

High chance short circuit. Standoff is used to create 'gap' between the motherboard and casing to prevent short circuit. You are suppose to screw your motherboard onto the standoff, not directly onto casing. can try whether can power up or not by removing your motherboard and placing it on top of your motherboard box. Be careful though.

Look for Nigel aka gs in this forum. He has a shop in sls and help to provide troubleshoot.

Well next time you get a system from SLS, you could build the whole system there, for a piece of mind, instead of diying

Your casing should come with standoffs and other tools or screws. They are there for some purpose.
