Hi guys

I would like to build a CPU since my current 6yr old quad core cpu is malfunctioning (power supply/graphic card problem. seems to be because of split screens.) I mainly want to use it on 2-3 Split screens (2x17in & 21in) for multitasking of heavy usage of web browsing (e.g. many tabs open at once) and running a movie/shows at the same time. I was hoping i could get some advice on my build.

Graphic card
GTX 960 4gb
(whats the diff with asus and gigabyte?)
(is it enough to handle stress from splitscreen?)

Ram
DDR4 kingston 8gb x 2

Processor
i5 6400 2.7mhz

Storage
HDD - toshiba 1tb 7200
SSD - toshiba 240gb

Case, motherboard and PSU
not too sure on this. recommendations or advice?

Also do you guys know if its possible to trade in my old computer parts? hope to get some help! thanks for reading!

Thanks so much for all the detailed info and for taking time to do it. Im just afraid the stress takes a toll on the cpu. Seemed to do so for my last comp(512gpu quad core proc). Motherboard and graphic card burnout one after another. If youre sure i3 and 2gb gpu works for what im doing. Then im convinced.
