Er its not really throwing 180 into WC, cos I looking to buy HAF-X or Trooper case, and its on offer $372 for Haf-X + H100i for tradepac bundle. Haf-X selling about $350~? in PC Themes so I might actually sell the h100i for some cash.

Just curious, where did you see the promo? Can't find it in their pricelist. :o

IMO, i prefer spending less on the case and settled for better hardware.

GTX770 I think overkill for me..? But from the way you put it I think there really isn't a need for me to OC.

Depends on the games you play and at what resolution bah.

Btw its not JUST Gaming, what i presumed was as long as it can play the very high end games, it should be fine with some basic programming such as visual studio..? Or am I wrong?

Btw, what games do you play?

yes visual studio easily, anyways IN case you are going to do some crazy modding bling blings i wouldnt advice the Haf X go switch 810.
Wanted to get that case but they ran out of stock :(

PCThemes now out of stock ah?? Switch 810?
No crazy mods, just lightning and led fans maybe haha. I'll never know what I'm going to do with it until I get bored of it!

Btw, what games do you play?

1440P Dota 2, L4d2, and RTS/Hack and slash type, WoW also. Don't need extreme GPU but good to have better to play new games :o

And the offer @ bottom of pricelist, you see the last column >>> is corsair h100i, can bundle with many things.

So, haswell not worth it?

Like this okay?

CASE: Haf-X(maybe get bundle sell the h100i WC?)
PSU: FSP 550W PLATINUM 80+, $139
MOBO: B75A-G43 GAMING
+
CPU: i5-3470, $400
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600mhz (2x4GB), $99
GPU: POWERCOLOR HD7950 PCS+, $399
SSD: PLEXTOR M5P 128GB, $169
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM, $120

No need ODD no need HDD, can reuse my current ones?

7950 got 3GB, better for higher ress and multi monitor setup. Price also quite similar.

CASE: Haf-X(maybe get bundle sell the h100i WC?)
PSU: FSP 550W PLATINUM 80+
MOBO: B75A-G43 GAMING
CPU: i5-3470
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1600mhz (2x4GB)
GPU: POWERCOLOR HD7950 PCS+
SSD: PLEXTOR M5P 128GB
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM

Duno like this ok bo. Duno if I want a better mobo so can SLI in future? But MSI B75A seems to match my color scheme perfect and good price.

you still haven't decide whether or not want to SLI ah.. I help you make decision la. Forget about dual GPU and just go with this setup :s13: since you alr picked 3470 and a 550W PSU. If you want to SLI you need to change mobo to Z77 series and upgrade your PSU, then you will continue to think whether or not you want to OC in the future and to get 3570k or not. Also, if you want to SLI for a 1440p display you should just go for a 7970.

If you can get the bundle and sell the H100i it's a good deal, CM HAF full towers are good cases and will last you a very long time (2-3 overhaul if you take care of your system well). If not, go for a mid tower case with the looks and features you want.

Haha I want the best of everything unfortunately my budget don't really allow!
Yealor you say also quite true no point thinking so much. Think i just settle for a 75B-G43 Msi Mobo. But will a h77 board of other brand be better than this? Just wondering cos don't really want to sacrifice too many things just for aesthetics.

Why I think so much I think cos from many past experience. I always go for the most 'value' and 'necessary' instead of going for something that is a 'WANT' and totally unneeded. End up many times I regret.. One year back I bought a Filco Majestouch 2 after much thoughts contemplating between a filco (obviously superior) and a CM Storm Trigger(BLING BLING RED BACKLIGHT WOOHOO)...... Both same price.... Until now still regret especially since I going for Red Theme Rig next....

i'll choose mobo based on RMA convenience. I stay in the west so I picked a Z77 gigabyte board. Generally you'll read of bad experiences of certain brands on the internet but honestly when it comes to electronics it's mostly heng suay. Some people will say they had bad experience with xxx brand and will never buy them, another will say they never had a problem with them for the past 10 years.

some things can go for best bang for the buck, some things are better going for high end. this one need experience and/or help from more experienced friends or hwz ppl to give advice.

most people like to to get everything all at once and realize they become hamstrung by their budget (painful to spend all at once). I personally prefer to get high end stuff one at a time and spread out my purchases over a few months. For example get a high end Z77 board + CPU and survive on iGPU for a month, then get a better GPU a month later etc.

Don't bother OC or SLI/CF. IMO it's not needed and all this will only cost more and lower the lifespan of your rig. By the time you wanna upgrade your rig, you would most probably wanna get the newer CPU which also mean getting a new mobo. If you not in a hurry can wait for GTX 760 to be release to see if it looks like the Titan.

Think too long to wait for 760 liao getting my rig by Q3. Think you make a good point that I will want to get a new cpu/mobo with the quick advances in tech nowadays.. Which is why I actually considered getting haswell mobo, but I think for now just stick to IB, coz by the time I wanna upgrade what i buy now will not make a difference hahaha.

I'm getting mine around Aug-Sept. Pretty much finalised my setup. Only thing that might change are gpu and ram for the extra bling bling. Hahaha. Going for black and red theme with Spectre Pro blue LED fans 2xfront 1xrear.

No idea. Hahaha but seem pretty cool in my head. Red hardware with blue led okay wad, no? White led like nothing special. Ohya I read that different led colour affects your case in certain ways. Blue for cooling, red for speed, green for eco. Anyone knows if it's true?
