Help for Taichung Itinerary

Hi guys! I'll be heading to Taiwan at the end of april and will be spending 2d1n in Taichung.

For the first day, i'll be spending it in the City area (Rainbow Village,Miyahara,YiZhongJie, FengJia NM)

For the second day, i was thinking of either a CingJing day trip or a SML day trip, which do you recommend? & If it's CingJing day trip, what would you recommend us to go afterwards?

Do you recommend me hire a driver for the 2 days, or just the second day will do? Travelling with family of 5 (no children)

I'm also planning what to do in Taichung. Rainbow village is a bit far from city centre.

Just back from my trip.
Went to monster village, 18 degree chocolate, a temple near by, cingjing farm, carton king, fengjia night market.
6 adults age range 26 to 38

Review:
Monster village quite fun to see all different monsters aka ghost or devil.

18 degree chocolate a bit wasted due to the chocolate need keep in cooler bag and there is shelf life so can't buy as after Taichung we going Taipei.

Temple was in the mid of mountain the views are very pretty.

Cingjing farm was alright fun to see those meh meh.

Carton king guess my driver actually forgotten thus ask us to go to the store instead near little swiss garden. Which very near the cingjing farm.
Cross opp to lavender shop.

Last stop fengjia night market.
