[HELP] Graphics issue with computer

I suspect this to be a cable issue. I've experienced all sorts of weird stuff recently especially when using HDMI cables. Some cables work on certain GPU's or laptops and wont on others. Really thought one of the GPU's was spoilt at one point.

hmm i havent tried this yet. ok i will back up my files and try a reinstall.

ok, i feel its most likely comparability issue.
another thing u can do is upgrade the bios, and upgrade to 2004 again and try to update all driver. see if this will make everything stable. this way is the more forward looking one, cus eventually from older versions we have to move on either for security issue or bug fix etc

Hey guys thanks for the responses.

The reason why i rolled back from windows 2004 is because of the ESENT error as reported here:

As for why i don't think its a cable issue is because both monitors have problem at the same time. So unless both cables spoil at the same time i think it unlikely. Plus i can use the monitors with my Macbook with no issues.

Lastly, i have tried Anti's method of forced P8 performance state limit. So far didnt encounter the problem yet. Seems like it works as a temporary fix?, but will continue to monitor for the week.

Did this + On NVIDIA driver installation, selected "Perform a clean install"



Did this and it actually became worse (i.e. gfx screws itself shortly after logging into Windows). I suspected it was something to do with power distribution when the card is on low power mode.



Yet to try this so he's trying it now.

EDIT: I forgot his system is running a vanilla configuration with no change to voltages, speeds or clocks

so my friend tried resetting his PC and it became markedly worse. not connected to internet. only installed drivers from NVIDIA website. No windows updates applied yet.

He can only use the computer for 1 minute after login and the screen goes poof

Strangely, he does not report seeing any screen tearing at UEFI boot time, i.e. the MSI logo

I had this issue for months awhile back. keep reseating rams / gpu. cleaning them. updating drivers. finally something fixed it.

Maybe like AMD, Nvidia also have issues with regards to their drivers. Or it was Windows 10 updates, somehow conflicting with Nvidia drivers.

For now if it is working, monitor if the issue comes back.
If problem comes back suggest do a clean install but not a reset.

- Download ISO from Microsoft onto a USB
*During Windows installation, disconnect from the internet.
It will not only make the installation much faster,
proper driver can be loaded after the install.
- Install AMD Chipset Driver

- Install the audio and LAN driver from MSI website
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450M-PRO-VDH-MAX#down-driver&Win10 64
- Install Nvidia geforce drivers
- Perform Windows update

BTW are the monitors you are using?
*FYI Windows 2004 so far have been stable, many issues
have been ironed out.
Remember to check Windows update make sure Windows is up to date.

Try to change your PC power cable. If lucky will continue to work for awhile, then the problem will come back and eventually will fail.

I know my suggestion sounds stupid. But try it

Hi all just a quick update. We tried many methods to isolate the issue. Most recently have gone through a day of use without any problems. Currently on a fresh installed (using the usb method) windows 1909 and latest nvidia drivers. Will continue to observe. If this solves the problem then it will be something in windows 2004 that is causing this. I even tried installing 2004 using usb and encountered problems while installing drivers.
