Help : h100i fan mounting screw thread gone!

Hi guy, ytd tried to mount my h100i on top of my nzxt phantom 410 case, when trying to screw the fans and rad together, I think the angle abit off, the screw threads of 1 hole seems to be "screwed" off. Realised that the screw thread is gone.

So I only secure 7 screws onto the fans and rad, 1 less screw, will have any major effect bo? Tested it, seems to be running fine without any much vibration or noise from the fan.

Should go get a 1 size up tapping screw to re tap the screw thread or simply RMA it?
Abit lazy to RMA cause took me some time to mount it together. My case very tight because of my mobo.

Should have gotten a full tower. Lol

Pretty common with the H100i I'd say. Happened to my first set also. Looks like it's not really suitable to keep removing the fans to clean the radiator unit. Frequent use of the screw holes wears them out sadly

Hard for me cause I'm using Corsair Graphite 600T where the radiator is at the bottom of the case's top mesh, and the fans are on top of the mesh. No way to clean the dust without removing the fans first

Just clean from the rad's bottom inside (ie. from inside the case). If you set it in pull, have good positive pressure plus filtered airflow, you wouldn't need to clean the other side of the rads which requires you having to take out the fans on the mesh.

I swear by having good positive pressure along with good air filters (credits to cyberwave) now. It really makes a load of difference in the long run when it comes to dust build-up, and maintenance is a lot more easier overtime

Then I go out and buy another H60 and does the same tests and I still managed to damage 1 screw thread on the radiator even when I was careful this time round.

I have feedback to Convergent about this issue for my first H60, CORSAIR seems to expect that the Hydro series AIO water-cooling HSF is not to be removed until if there is a problem or a change of HSF once mounted.

It happened to my H80i previously too, the aluminium? radiator's screw threads really cant make it, remount less then 3 times, 3 out of 4 screw threads gone case...

In the end bo pian had to bring to convergent and get it exchange, luckily they got stock at that time and changed it on the spot...

that is a very good temp already unless ur ambient temp is very low like <20

Same issue with their Air Series fans . The screw hole covered with rubber to prevent vibration .

During the screwing to my case , it chew off the rubber coating . Left a big hole there .
Now my mounting kinda unstable ...

Ambient temp +10 to 15deg considered good already leh

Actually for my case it is the construct of the radiator which its mounting holes's screw threads wear off, the screws provided are fine...

They should make the mounting holes to be more rigid so that it would not wear off so easily after just a few re-mount...
