Why? This makes 0 sense when 1070ti has the same performance. So you mean same performance but won't last the same 5 years? I really don't get the logic.

I guess because in the next 5 years you'll get more games that supports ray tracing. At least can switch it on for some games and see see look look. Not taking into the account any performance deficit.

yeap, i know 2060 and 1070ti perform almost the same. if 5 years down the road, if more games use ray tracing, then can depend on 2060.

buying 2060 also get 1 free game now..hahah

We also dunno how widespread DLSS is going to be. If it's like Hairworks or the smoke thingy then it's going to be something everyone switches off for performance issues.

That's the whole issue with the RTX line. Huge pricing increases for potential graphical improvements. I'm facing a similar issue - do I go 1080TI for 4K gaming or pay more than double the price 2080TI for future proofing? I'm leaning towards 1080TI, then in future when pricing drops I'll just migrate the 1080TI to the living room HTPC. There's a good reason why it's recommended to stay one gen behind for the misers amongst us.

1080ti isnt fantastic for 4k though while 2080ti is actually passable. So 2080ti actually has a legit market. Unless it's 2080 vs 1080ti.

Also, I don't think ray tracing is worth the extra cost especially at these type of performance deficit. Won't it make more sense to buy a xx60 2-3 years later which should come with better ray tracing(if it's still a thing) performance.

The free game argument though is legit. Not sure if 1080ti have any ongoing promo. I'll guess it depends on which you game you want if both have game promos if not just go for the one with free game since it's more bang for buck.

best deal is always oversea but you must account for shipping fee
