my mobo is faulty and I am looking to replace it .

looking to buy new mobo, but do not know which to buy.

currently I am using gigabyte p55 ud3 with i5 1st gen

shld I just buy a new mobo and reuse my old cpu or shld I replace the mobo with the cpu?

which brand and model shld I buy? value for $ mobo or mobo bundle will be great.

You won't be able to find a new P55 mobo for any decent price, unless by some miracle you come across any shop clearing their old stock. If you don't mind secondhand though, P55 mobos can be had for less than $100 (usually), if you do some scouting in the sales subforum.

Otherwise, the usual Haswell i5 + B85 mobo combo is about $360+ on mynextcomonline.com.

If just buy mobo you can go for a second hand one.

Otherwise get new bundle should be more value for money.

If you find your current Core i5 still satisfying, then you should scavenge for any H55/H57/P55 motherboard...Ask distro, buy from reseller, be it 1st or 2nd hand...
