I recently just changed my GPU because my old one die liao, but when i boot my pc up, all i get is a black screen, but gpu fan is running. However when i remove the new GPU i can boot up fine.

I changed from the old one radeon HD 6870 to new one radeon R9 285

Ive been at this for hours, deleted the previous drivers using the programme 'display driver uninstaller', disabled my original display adaptor in device manager. My bios is set to PCIE as main. still cannot work. Could this be a hardware issue instead?

pls help! thanks!

Could be PCI-Express Slot failure or power-supply failure.
Try upgrade your BIOS to the latest see if it helps.

I don't think you should disable your adaptor by device manager.

You should only uninstall your driver, reboot, shut down, install new card, bootup, install new driver and reboot.
