[HELP] Installing MySQL for iMac

hello all, i been trying to install mysql for imac ...
ran all the installer files, but i cannot find the app nor open up any files with extensions (.sql)

anyone can help?

err did u read e installation guide? I think e default MySQL installation only comes with a pref pane in system settings. there is no GUI frontend to access it. u need to use e terminal.

hi bro, would u have any idea where/what programs i can use to have the GUI (like SQL...)

this is my first foray into Mac OS...i rly appreciate your advice :)

you need to read the documentations...

did you download and install the workbench too?

This is not a Mac OS X problem. I highly recommend you get a book on MySQL and learn how to manage it.

have the same problem , mysql in mac os seems weird.
There is mysql in my system preference but somehow after installing everything in mysql.dmg folder there seems to be no program?

p.s gave up and ran on bootcamp

MySQL is a server. It is not a client application. Why should there be anything at all?
